The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the IT Club and the Unarvu Counselling Centre of Assabah Arts and Science College, organized an awareness programme for parents titled “Navigating the Degree Journey Together.” The programme was conducted under the supervision of the IQAC and witnessed the participation of a large number of parents.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Safira E.M., Head of the Department of Computer Science, and was inaugurated by Captain Prof. M.N. Muhammed Koya, Principal of the College. In his inaugural address, he highlighted the academic, psychological, and social challenges faced by students during their degree studies and emphasized the importance of parental support and encouragement during this crucial phase.
Ms. Afeefa M.K., Psychologist at the Unarvu Counselling Centre, led the awareness session. She elaborated on topics such as students’ mental health, academic stress, challenges posed by the digital era, and the significance of open communication between parents and their children.
Mrs. Fahina delivered the felicitation address, and Mrs. Shahanas proposed the vote of thanks. The programme served as a meaningful platform to enhance parents’ understanding of their role in supporting the academic and emotional well-being of their children throughout their degree journey.
